All Schools Mass
by Coral Potts • • 0 Comments
Today, our 3rd-8th grade students went to the Catholic Pastoral Center for All Schools Mass in Nashville. They had the privilege to hear Bishop J. Mark Spalding, the new Diocese of Nashville Bishop. It will be the first time most of them have ever had the opportunity to celebrate mass with a bishop.

Fun during Catholic Schools’ Week

Yesterday, we hosted our Parent/Grandparent Lunch and, of course, had them to buy MORE books! We LOVE books here at Sacred Heart School. And, of course, our students dressed in their favorite decade. We had some swinging 50’s & 60’s, some peace keeping 70’s, some neon jazzercising 80’s, & some current fashionistas. We were styling & profiling – well, some of us!

Balloon Volleyball

Who knew a balloon could take such a beating! Each of the classes competed against each other with balloons and the objective was to keep 2 of them up in the air without touching them twice in a row within a square. First place went to the 8th grade and second place to 3rd grade. As you can imagine, that was a surprising, but a pleasant turn of events for the 3rd graders! Everyone had a great time.

St. Cecilia Motherhouse

As part of our Catholic Schools’ Week, Sister Teresa Joy & Sister Mary Martin visited and enlightened us about life in a convent. It was very interesting to see how much alike we were and to see how they are not “burdened by the cares of this world” because they have truly given everything to HIM.

Book Buddies

Today the younger students were read to by the older students or by someone very special – Mrs. Marks & Clifford the Big Red Dog! When the older ones were finished, they were then read to by the younger ones! It was wonderful to see! The students loved it!
