There were 583 books read between Cameron Conway & Reese Dean this year. It was a close race for the winner but Cameron won with 305 books and Reese came in a close second with 278.
Pre-K total for book buddy was over 2322 books this year!
Kindergarten is learning how primary colors can make secondary colors to form a rainbow.
Yesterday in 5th grade science, the class was marooned on “Zombie Island”. They had to use the design process and work in groups to design and build a series circuit. Every group built a successful circuit and made the light bulb work in order to protect themselves from the zombies. They even installed switches in their circuits! Today, they will be given additional bulbs and batteries to see if they can successfully create parallel circuits.
Today, Dr. Seuss visited Kindergarten to read to them. Even, Thing 1 sat in and listened with them.
We are doing a Dr. Seuss activity everyday this week. Yesterday was……. green eggs and ham. As you can see, they really enjoyed it!
Kindergarten playing minute to win it as they work on fine motor skills. Who can put the most marshmallows or M&M’s in the bottle with tweezers in a minute?
The 5th/6th grade have worked for the last week on researching either an extinct or endangered animal. They researched and took notes on a specific animal, then chose a project to complete to share what they learned. Students wrote magazine articles, short stories, created infographics, and one made a video. Students shared their final products with the class today.
Yesterday, the 7th grade Math students each bought a vehicle with 2 extra add-ons. Then, they calculated taxes, the down payment, interest, insurance and monthly payments. Today, they are taking out 10 of their best friends for their birthday, ordering 10 different meals, calculating their meals with a discount along with an 18% tip. They’ve had fun this week while being surprised at how fast their money is spent!
The Kindergarten class did such an AWESOME job on their scarecrows we had to show them off!
The 5th-8th Grades went on their field trip today to the United Launch Alliance in Decatur, AL to see how rockets were made. IT WAS AWESOME!!! We had a great tour lead by our tour guides, Cady & Natalie. I see engineers in some of their futures.
