Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo PixToday, we celebrated Cinco de Mayo and Teacher Appreciation Day.  Mrs. Sue and the students worked really hard to make this a special day with sombreros and a piñata.  During break, we ate cheese or salsa with chips and had a brownie with milk or water.  The students had already learned a dance and Mrs. Sue taught it to the teachers.  They also sang a song in Spanish while the teachers “attempted” to hit the piñata.  It was such fun for everyone.  For lunch, the teachers were treated with a meal from Nana’s Pizzeria.  We have the BEST TEACHERS here at Sacred Heart School!

Parent/Grandparent Luncheon

P-GPLuncheon.jpgToday, we celebrated family by having our annual Parent/Grandparent Luncheon.  As you can imagine, our gymnasium was full of students eating with family and talking non-stop.  We had moms, dads, grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins eating with their favorite SHS family member!  The students also dressed up as their favorite historical figures.  Several were Davy Crocketts, Pocahontas, Abraham Lincolns, nurses, crime solvers, and even a scientist.

1st2ndwinter.jpg1st and 2nd Graders have been busy, busy! This week we learned all about Dr. Martin Luther King J., and how he worked hard to try and make the world a better place. We’ve also been learning about winter weather and worked on beautiful winter art. (We even hoped for a few snow days!!) Everyone is looking forward to Catholic Schools Week and all the great activities and service projects that are planned.
