Thanksgiving Lunch

Thanksgiving LunchOur cafeteria ladies outdid themselves for our annual Thanksgiving Lunch here at SHS.  We even had a few going back for seconds after everyone was fed!  If you were unable to come, you really missed out on an awesome meal of turkey, dressing, homemade roll and much more.  It was a great time to visit with students and friends you haven’t seen in a while.

Cinnamon Rolls!

Cafeteria Ladies, 092915Ms. Brenda and Ms. Jennifer, the cafeteria ladies, outdid themselves today!  Here is an example of the AWESOME lunches we have here at Sacred Heart School – today our choice was either Chicken Vegetable Soup with Crackers or Hot Dog Wrap, Carrots & Celery, Orange Juice or Mandarin Oranges, Cinnamon Roll and Milk.  Who wouldn’t love those choices for lunch?!?  All of the students enjoyed their lunch, especially the cinnamon rolls!  If you haven’t eaten lunch with your child or grandchild here, you are REALLY missing out.  Our lunch menu is always posted on our school calendar and can be seen on our school website, http://www.shsloretto.com.  If you would like to eat with your student, just call the school’s cafeteria at 853-4337 to let them know and enjoy your meal surrounded by students who are bound to brighten your day!

5th & 6th Grade 4-H February Meeting

56gr4H.jpgThis month, when the 5th and 6th grades met for their 4-H monthly meeting, each gave a speech demonstration.  We learned how to make kool-aid, ramen noodles, and cupcakes and how to draw a horse.  We also learned the history of video games, line drawing, the Eastern Fox Squirrel and the fiddle.  Each student showed great speaking abilities and the knowledge of their topic.  Such naturals!

3rd & 4th Grade 4-H Demostration

34gr4h.jpgWe had a great 4-H meeting this month.  The 3rd and 4th grade students each gave a Demonstration Speech.  We were shown how to make pinwheels with only paper, a push pin and a straw, how to make snowflakes since it looks like we are going to miss out on that this year, how to correctly address an envelop and much more!  Each student showed great speaking skills and should be very proud of how well they did.

Parent/Grandparent Luncheon

P-GPLuncheon.jpgToday, we celebrated family by having our annual Parent/Grandparent Luncheon.  As you can imagine, our gymnasium was full of students eating with family and talking non-stop.  We had moms, dads, grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins eating with their favorite SHS family member!  The students also dressed up as their favorite historical figures.  Several were Davy Crocketts, Pocahontas, Abraham Lincolns, nurses, crime solvers, and even a scientist.
