Looking Back

5th-6th gr CSW Camping IMG_20170131_104117 IMG_20170131_104624-1 IMG_20170131_104652 IMG_20170131_104739 IMG_20170131_110639Last week, we celebrated Catholic Schools’ Week and had such fun!  Looking back at our fun-filled, busy week, our camping day had to be “funnest” day we had with the “camp fires” and s’mores.  Here is Mrs. Stepp’s class and an explanation of what they did. As part of our Catholic School’s Week festivities, 5th and 6th grades spent their Language Arts block outside around a “campfire.” We ate s’mores, told ghost stories, sang a song, and read about monster goldfish and wild boars as invasive species. As you can see, we all enjoyed our “camping trip.”

Farewell

20170113_141817Today, it is with sad hearts we say goodbye to our principal, Mrs. Tina Neese. We know God has many blessings in store for her and is leading her down a new path. Although we will greatly miss her, we know the same God that created this wonderful opportunity for Mrs. Neese will also lead and guide us during this transition period.
Mrs. Neese, we are so thankful for your time with us. We appreciate your leadership, knowledge, guidance, wisdom, and compassion. We know our next principal will have some big shoes to fill.
We miss you already and wish you the best. We love you.

Catholic Schools Week Highlights

CSW Collage PixThis past week has been so much fun and is always a favorite among the students.  We not only have had all of the fun activities throughout the week, we dressed up and even wore pajamas one day!  Since we have been so blessed here at SHS, we wanted to share some of the blessings.  We’ve made Thank You cards for our military, seminarians, and volunteers, and brought items for The Shelter and the Lions Home.  We want our students to learn to not only think of themselves, but those around them and how they can encourage and bless them.  Thank you, Teachers, for making this year’s CSW the BEST!!!

Thanksgiving Lunch

Thanksgiving LunchOur cafeteria ladies outdid themselves for our annual Thanksgiving Lunch here at SHS.  We even had a few going back for seconds after everyone was fed!  If you were unable to come, you really missed out on an awesome meal of turkey, dressing, homemade roll and much more.  It was a great time to visit with students and friends you haven’t seen in a while.

Christmas Gift Open House

Christmas Gift Open House 15 FlyerAre you ready for some of the best Christmas shopping in one stop?  We will have our Christmas Gift Open House on the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend and it’s going to be awesome!  The best and most unique gifts will be available with the best prices.  You will not want to miss this year’s open house.  And, best of all, you are not only buying some of the best gifts for your family and friends (maybe for yourself!), but you are also contributing to the school.  The vendors donate at least 10% of their sales to SHS!

Halloween @ SHS

2015 Halloween CollageWe’ve had a lot of fun today.  We wore our favorite Halloween shirt and each class went Trick or Treating to the other classrooms and received enough candy to last them til Christmas!  Don’t worry – we sent MOST of the candy home to share with their families!  Then, each class had their parties where great food was provided.
The older classes went through a Haunted House created by the 8th graders.  It was VERY, VERY good. Both the students and adults enjoyed walking through it and some went more than once!
